Biden’s Commerce Secretary Admits Trump’s China Tariffs on Steel and Aluminum Helped Save Jobs in the US (VIDEO)
Joe Biden’s Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo on Wednesday admitted Trump’s China tariffs helped save steel and aluminum jobs.
In 2018, President Trump imposed a 25% tariff on steel and a 10% tariff on aluminum using Section 232 of the Trade Expansion Act.
Trump received major blowback over his decision to impost tariffs.
It turns out the tariffs did help save American jobs.
This must be painful for the Biden Admin to admit.
“With respect to tariffs, there is a place for tariffs – you know, the 232 tariffs on steel and aluminum have in fact helped save American jobs in the steel and aluminum industries,” Raimondo said to a reporter during Wednesday’s press briefing.
