JUST IN: Judge Won’t Release Bodycam Footage Showing Andrew Brown Trying to Hit Deputies with His Car Before They Fired Shots
Last week a 40-year-old black man was shot and killed by a sheriff’s deputy in Elizabeth City, North Carolina.
According to reports, deputies were serving a search warrant last Wednesday morning in the 400 block of Perry Street, off Roanoke Avenue.
The man, 40-year-old Andrew Brown, got into his car and began to drive away when deputies opened fire.
The family and the family’s lawyer insisted Brown, who was a father to 10 children, was unarmed and was executed by deputies.
Earlier this week the Brown family reviewed 20 seconds of the bodycam footage and publicly accused the deputies of executing Andrew Brown.
Attorneys say their preliminary autopsy report shows “that there were five penetrating bullet wounds to the body of Andrew Brown Jr.” https://t.co/JVDoMXz81G pic.twitter.com/rXw5hz1ZWm
