Liz Cheney Calls President Trump a ‘Threat to Freedom’, Accuses Trump of Trying to Steal Election With Capitol Riot in House Floor Speech on Eve of Vote to Remove Her from GOP Leadership
Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY) gave a House floor speech Tuesday night attacking President Trump for his continued belief the 2020 presidential election was stolen from him, once again blaming Trump for the January 6 riot at the Capitol and accusing him of trying to steal the election. Cheney spoke on the eve of a vote Wednesday by House Republicans to remove her from the number three position of GOP House leadership, Conference Chair. Republicans in the chamber walked out on Cheney as she rose to speak, save for Rep. Ken Buck (R-CO).
Cheney said of Trump, “…God has blessed America, Mr. Speaker, but our freedom only survives if we protect it, if we honor our oath, taken before God in this chamber to support and defend the Constitution,
