Florida Hospital Closes Maternity Unit Due to Staffing Shortages After Firing Unvaxxed Healthcare Workers
Holy Cross Health in Fort Lauderdale, Florida closed its maternity unit ‘until further notice’ due to staffing shortages after firing unvaxxed healthcare workers.
Recall, Holy Cross imposed a vaccine mandate for all 2,500 employees.
The healthcare workers had until September 21 to get jabbed or lose their job.
“If they have not been vaccinated or have received an approved exemption they will no longer be able to work at Holy Cross Health by September 21st,” said Dr. Jose Lopez, Holy Cross chief medical over the summer.
Holy Cross closed its Labor and Delivery unit and told pregnant women to go find another place to give birth.
A Covid surge has reportedly caused a staffing shortage among the fully vaccinated workers at Holy Cross.
