The autopsy of a California lawyer who was found dead in Mexico one hour after he was extorted by Rosarito police has been released as an aggravated homicide. Elliot Blair, 33, and his wife Kim Williams, both public defenders, were on vacation in Rosarito to celebrate their one-year wedding anniversary when they were pulled over by police for allegedly rolling through a stop sign.

The police demanded more than the $160 in cash the couple offered, and accepted it 90 minutes later. Yet, Elliot Blair was found dead at the Las Rocas Resort and Spa. He was on his right side, face down with 40 skull fractures to the back of his head and “road rash” on his knees – refuting the official statement that he fell from the 25-foot-high balcony of the hotel.

In response, the family requested a second autopsy. Fox News reported that the results of this autopsy showed the lawyer had suffered 40 fractures to the back of his skull, as well as “road rash” on his knees and a toe injury, which indicated he was dragged. This directly opposes the police’s claim that Elliot died from a fall.
