Ivanka Trump shared her family’s frightening experience last week when her son, Theo, was rushed to the hospital in an ambulance after breaking his wrist while playing soccer. She wrote in an Instagram post Sunday that she had received “one of those calls that every parent dreads.”

Theo’s injury was serious enough that an ambulance had to be called to take him to the nearest hospital, and his worried parents, Ivanka and Jared Kushner, raced to meet him. Though the break was bad, Ivanka said the medical staff at the Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital “cared for Theo tenderly and professionally.”

Despite the seriousness of the situation, the 6-year-old was still able to make the day a positive one with a couple of ice pops. Ivanka said “Theo’s visit culminated with two ice pops, which led to him declaring ‘[T]his is the best day ever!’,” causing the nurse to comment that “no adult in the emergency room has ever said something like that when given an ice pop.”

The experience has motivated Ivanka and Jared to donate to the Joe DiM
