Cause of Death Revealed for NFL Player Mike Williams, Who Died at 36

The Hillsborough County Medical Center has revealed the cause of death of former NFL player Mike Williams.

Mike Williams, who was a former wide receiver for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, died on September 12th after being hit in his head two weeks earlier at a construction site.

In a preliminary autopsy report, the Hillsborough County Medical Center ruled Williams’ death was due to bacterial sepsis “traced to a dental infection and retained tooth roots.”

In Williams’ initial medical examiner report, the Associated Press reported cardiovascular disease was a contributing factor to his death.
