Feds Detained San Jose Mass Shooter in 2016 For Possessing Manifestos and Books on Terrorism, But Never Alerted Local Authorities

On Wednesday Samuel Cassidy shot dead nine of his coworkers at a railyard in San Jose, California.
The San Jose mass shooter was known to federal authorities going back to 2016, however they never alerted local law enforcement about his manifestos.
Santa Clara District Attorney Jeff Rosen said Friday that had local authorities been alerted, it may have helped prevent Cassidy from shooting dead nine of his coworkers at the railyard on Wednesday.
“The DA’s office was not notified,” Rosen said. “I would like to have known this in 2016.”
In 2016, Customs and Border Protection stopped Samuel Cassidy after his trip back from the Philippines.
