Louisiana Court of Appeal Rules in Favor of Shreveport Nurses and Grants Restraining Order Against Ochsner Hospital from Firing Unvaxxed Employees
The Louisiana Second Circuit Court of Appeals has issued a temporary restraining order on Thursday against Ochsner Hospital and for all hospitals statewide from firing employees who refuse to get vaccinated while the mandate’s legality is in court.
The 2nd Circuit Court of Appeal in Shreveport ruled in favor of Shreveport nurses just a day before Ochsner Health’s Friday deadline for its 32,000 employees to get vaccinated or face termination. The hospital enacted a mandatory vaccination policy back in August where employees should be vaccinated or an exemption by Oct. 29 and refusal will result in dismissal.
