We Have Their Names: Here’s a List of Every Single House Democrat Not Running for Re-Election in 2022
Is it possible an upcoming red wave is driving Democrats from the House?
It’s difficult to say, since politicians often give a familiar reason for leaving office — “I want to spend more time with my family” — that may or may not be true.
But of the 32 House members not running for re-election in 2022, 20 are Democrats, according to NPR.
Those Democrats are:
- Ann Kirkpatrick of Arizona
- Alan Lowenthal, Jackie Speier and Karen Bass of California
- Val Demings and Charlie Crist of Florida
- Cheri Bustos of Illinois
- John Yarmuth of Kentucky
- Anthony Brown of Maryland
- G.K. Butterfield and David Price of North Carolina
- Tom Suozzi of New York
- Tim Ryan of Ohio
- Peter DeFazio of Oregon
- Conor Lamb and Mike Doyle of Pennsylvania
- Eddie Bernice Johnson and Filemon Vela of Texas
- Peter Welch of Vermont
- Ron Kind of Wisconsin
Eight of those Democrats are leaving the House to run for other offices.
