Rhode Island is the latest state to join the trend, with a bill that would allow non-citizens to vote in municipal elections. Vermont is also considering similar legislation. The proposed bill (H 5461) states that cities and towns must coordinate with the secretary of state and board of elections to develop the forms and instructions to implement the provisions. This means that illegal immigrants could be granted the right to influence the U.S. electoral process.

The Federalist reports that the bill does not specify what constitutes proof of residency. It’s clear that the Democrats are hoping to outnumber the people who would vote against them. But what kind of country allows non-citizens to vote in their elections?

Ray J Politics, a political analyst, tweeted “It’s obvious the Democrats aren’t even American at this point.” CBS 21 News also weighed in on the subject, reporting that Democratic state Rep. Enrique Sanchez of Providence is sponsoring the bill that would make it possible for those with a license or Taxpayer Identification Number to vote in their local city or town.
