Scientists “Mystified” Over Africa’s Low Vax Rate and Low COVID Numbers

For over 20 years chloroquine has been an effective treatment for malaria for much of the African continent.

The drug hydroxychloroquine is frequently distributed to travelers to sub-Saharan Africa.

There have currently been 298 scientific trials using hydroxychloroquine in treating the COVID-19. The studies have shown a 64% success rate in early treatment trials and a 75% success rate in early treatment mortality studies.

This week scientists announced they were “mystified” over Africa’s lower vaccination rates and continued low COVID-19 numbers.

The AP reported:

But there is something “mysterious” going on in Africa that is puzzling scientists, said Wafaa El-Sadr, chair of global health at Columbia University.
